About & Profile
This is a personal blog run by fb, who mainly hikes low mountains and satoyama landscapes in and around the Kanto region of Japan.
I began hiking in the autumn of 2018. Most of my trips are day hikes in the Okumusashi and Okutama areas, as well as the mountains of Gunma and Nagano prefectures.
My current goals include taking on longer routes such as:
- Traversing the Shirane Sanzan
- Traversing the Iide Mountain Range
- Traversing the Nagasawa Ridge
About This Blog
There is a great deal of information available about hiking and outdoor activities. However, while actually walking in the mountains, I often encounter questions that are difficult to understand through experience alone, such as:
- Why does sweat chill occur?
- Why do my legs stop responding properly during a descent?
- Why can the same equipment feel more or less comfortable in different situations?
- Why does water from Japanese mountains often taste pleasant and easy to drink?
From the perspective of an ordinary recreational hiker, this blog examines and organizes topics based on my own experiences, including:
- Hiking equipment
- Rainwear maintenance
- Preventing sweat chill
- Neuromuscular fatigue
- Mountain water and food culture
- Access to hiking areas around Kanto
I also document mistakes, experiments, and trial-and-error. I hope these records will be useful to readers who have similar questions.
Article Production and the Use of AI
This blog may use AI tools as supplementary aids during parts of the production process, including developing article ideas, gathering information, and preparing initial drafts.
However, AI-generated text is not published without review. At every stage, I personally check the content and carry out additional research, corrections, additions, and rewriting as necessary.
Because hiking and outdoor information can affect personal safety, I base articles on first-hand experience while checking information from public institutions, official manufacturer sources, academic literature, and other reliable materials whenever reasonably possible. I also try to avoid wording that could lead readers to make unsafe or mistaken decisions.
AI is used only as a tool to assist with organizing information and drafting text. This blog does not produce large quantities of low-quality content intended to manipulate search rankings. I take responsibility for reviewing the final content, wording, and decision to publish each article.
When AI-generated, synthetic, or altered content could mislead readers or viewers, its use will be clearly disclosed.
